“My message to those who are thinking about making art is: Just try it. Try, look, feel, make your own mistakes, and appreciate people who help you and teach you. You are so blessed to have this opportunity.”

Yana is a jewelry and crafts designer, originally from the city of Dnipro in south central Ukraine. She now lives in Newnan, and one of her artist specialties is giving new life to your forgotten, broken, or heirloom pieces of jewelry.
She can turn any old piece into something beautiful! Her signature jewelry sets, earrings, necklaces, and chokers are gorgeous, one-of-a-kind custom pieces styled in vintage, antique, contemporary, romantic, and artsy motifs, as are her lovely greeting cards and ornaments. Her jewelry is stylish, well crafted, and easy to wear. Other unique creations include journals, home decor, miniatures, cross-stitching, and frames. She uses a variety of hard and soft natural materials, neutral colors, and incorporates hand crafted accents into her designs. “I learned all about hand work from my wonderful grandmother, Maria, who taught me the basics: knitting, embroidery, sewing, sculpture, and so on,” says Yana. “I remember her every time I create a new piece,” she adds. Yana joined the NCAA in November 2018 and currently serves as a Director on the Board. She continues to learn local culture and to make herself known through her artwork, and participates in local artist events and art exhibitions. Yana was featured in the Coweta Arts section of the Jan/Feb 2020 Newnan Coweta Magazine. She was also in the Southern Women Magazine Sep/Oct 2022. She wants to grow as an artist and loves the people she’s met and the opportunities the Newnan community has to offer. |
