Like most little kids, I always loved drawing and continued to draw when other children found more interesting pursuits.
Growing up, the artists I admired were illustrators. That’s what I wanted to be, so I practiced – a lot, and when I felt confident enough, I started looking for work. My first jobs were mostly cartooning but as I improved, I began to receive requests for more serious work. In recent years I have started to edge more towards personal or ‘fine art’ ( whatever that is ).
I try to create images which evoke an emotion or feeling from the viewer. I want my art to tell a story. Sometimes it works – sometimes it doesn’t.
While I love creating images in oil, I probably had the most fun with cartooning, especially the political and MAD magazine.
So there you have it.
