Southside Sketchers –Ready to plein aire!

Our group regularly meets on the 1st Friday & the 3rd Wednesday of each month. In the warm months we paint from approximately 8:30 am to 1 pm. In the cooler months we paint in the afternoons from about 1:30 to 5 pm. Please use the group’s Facebook page or Instagram Account to learn where the group is meeting next.

February 2018 Highlight: Tina Persons

Tina grew up in Hawaii and spent summers in Colorado. She currently resides in downtown Newnan. Her art medium is acrylics, and she paints both realism and folk art. “My Mother is a wonderful artist,” Tina says, “so I grew up with a love of arts and crafts of all kinds. NCAA Sponsors a Fiberglass Figure for Childrens Connect Museum

The Newnan Coweta Art Association is sponsoring the painting of a fiberglass figure as part of the public art exhibit “Newnan – A Storybook Town”. The effort is meant to raise funds for the Children’s Connect Museum in Newnan, GA and features various farm animals that will be painted by artists throughout the city.   Shakeyla Shinholster is an artist and aspiring writer who lives in Peachtree City, GA. In her books, she teaches children that it’s okay to be different because everyone is unique in their own way.
