Bumble Beads became my passion in 2010. Ever since I was a child, I have always enjoyed creating things with my hands. Since I had never done jewelry making before, it became a new venue to try.
I started selling my jewelry at the Newnan Market Days and in local stores in downtown Newnan; I even had a pop-up store for 4 months downtown Newnan. It was a great adventure. I was still teaching my 6th grade students everyday; my friends manned the shop for me. I then started working for Piedmont Newnan Cancer Wellness Group and taught jewelry there 6 times a year during my teaching breaks. That led to many great friendships with marvelous cancer survivors and patients. When I became a cancer patient myself, I already had my own wonderful support group! I also started something called "Come Bead With Me!" Before COVID, we met monthly at a Tea Room. Corner Arts Gallery was so helpful to keep this group going. I would prepare kits that included tools and directions for my students that they could pick up from the Gallery. What a Blessing! Currently, I teach at the Corner Arts Gallery every 2nd Saturday of the Month. I teach a kids class at 11:00 am and an adult class at 1 pm on the same Saturday. Hope to see you in class sometime!!!
