During COVID I took on the office of President of the NCAA. A big task, but I hoped to make my mark and bring new features and benefits to our Art Association.
The inspiration for my own art has evolved over the years. Lately, the challenge is finding a medium that can be flexible and portable, as well as appealing -- something I can pick up and work on quickly, or put away if necessary. The images in my works are based on reality with a healthy dose of abstraction. My best sources are ala plein aire. Natural light seems to be the best representation of color, even though my work is often somewhat abstract. My iphone has replaced my dslr to serve as a good source for reference material. My skills are mostly self taught, with some input from various sketching and painting classes. I also check You Tube for interesting tutorials. Not very formal, but it has been fun. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I did creating them! |
