Katie Ferguson has been an artist since highschool where her love of clay came to be. Her teacher allowed her to take a wheel home for Christmas break and she worked on it the whole time. After high school she went to the Art Institute of Atlanta to study graphic design. She quickly realized that using computers and technology to create art was not her cup of tea. After many years, 3 kids and 3 degrees Katie went back to college at Georgia State University and received her bachelors in studio art with a concentration in ceramics. She gets her inspiration from nature and Van Gogh. She takes elements from his paintings and creates 3d versions. She doesn't believe in perfection and admires the flaws and surprises that come from working with clay and glaze. |
