"I'm not sure where my love of art comes from because I am not an artist and know very little about art movements, techniques, color relations, and object dimensions, but I know what I like, and I appreciate art in all of its forms. Over the years, I have been told that I have a good eye for color and decor. As a document specialist in my career, I designed presentations and formatted tens of hundreds of contract deliverables, always striving for the highest level of quality and organization in everything I do. It feels great whenever I can tap into my creative spirit. It is a joy being involved with the NCAA and the greater art community."
Cheryl grew up in southeastern Wisconsin, the older half of an identical twin pairing. Her family moved to Michigan's Upper Peninsula when she was 16, but Wisconsin is where she calls home. She is blessed with two daughters and three grandchildren who make her heart glow! Cheryl joined the NCAA in 2014 by way of her husband, Fred Buyarski. She currently serves as the NCAA’s Corresponding Secretary and Newsletter Editor (a position she previously held during 2016, 2017, and 2018. She has also served as a Director, Treasurer, and on many committees. She lends a hand with the NCAA’s annual Juried Member Art Exhibition; and since 2015 has coordinated the NCAA’s annual Christmas Arts & Crafts Market. Her deep and abiding appreciation for the arts has been a delightful journey, and she is grateful to all artists who have helped her develop a personal connection with art. |
